my blinklist ... is currently empty

my blinklist IMG
i stumbled upon how blinklist has changed (since i first looked at it some time ago) by way of referez famed: space ufo

as i said, mine is currently empty ... but you never know? i might have added something by the time you read this ....

not much to report here ... it's pretty impressive and in typical mostbloggers style - you see the link - now go, get out there and surf :-)

btw, i am quite fond of the "social bookmark this page" link at the end of this post. it's the "socializer" from "ekstreme."

a gathering of links: mosaics, lynx, xmail, surfboard, buzz and a bloke

blogsaic IMG
ripped from their pages: Blogsaic is just a word we made up, but essentially a blogsaic is a mosaic of images that link back to your blog. Tiles are created from images or avitars you upload that reflect the personality or topic of the blog. The link for your tile is not strictly limited to just blogs, essentially tiles can link to any URL you wish...such as myspace.com/yourprofile, flickr, yahoo, del.icio.us etc etc

lynxdir IMG
not sure where i found this ... or who to give credit to for this link. however, i did find the next link on this directory - which in my book makes this a very interesting directory. basically, i have found several pages and sites that i would not have found otherwise. people have bailed on directories in many ways (as far as buzz and new goes) but it's a type of web service waiting to be developed and taken to the next level (or many next levels)...

xmailharddrive IMG

your gmail is now a functional hard drive for files online ... with a growing amount of space.

queryster blog surfboard IMG
i have blogged about this in the past ... so it's a repeat of an interesting idea. many visitors come to my blog from the native "next blog" link in blogger. a certain number of people who view blogs apparently are drawn to the random and new discovery of blogs via such "mystery links" and click them daily. here is an example of the queryster blog surfboard in action
hint:
see the little surfboard on the page ... click on the right or left of the board - ya'll come back now ya hear! and i claim no responsibility for what you might or might not find while surfing on the board.

btw, this ties in a bit with a bloke ... guy ... blogger ... that i am having a conversation with by way of the next link... (more on how that ties in after the next link)...

my bloglog buzz IMG
yep, that's my own "my bloglog buzz" member page ... you'll notice on the right sidebar of mostbloggers isp blog (as opposed to the left one :-0) a bit about yesterday's top 5 links and recent readers - that all comes from mybloglog.com. here's my community page from there (growing like gangbusters).

anyway, click the main link above here and you can see the conversation between the fella from the next link and follow it there. basically, we're chatting about the best way (in our opinions) to share links among other bloggers. so far, i am way behind on the topic ... and this guy is way ahead of me on the best ways to share what he terms, "link love" ... the basic curtesy of reciprocity that should come natural to bloggers ... but doesn't.

i promise i'll get into how this conversation ties in with the blog surfboard after the next link ... stringing you along am i? no, just full of turkey from thanksgiving and therefore a bit loopy... yeah, it's the turkey and the tryptophan (sp???)

anyway, in this conversation i am way behind in the learning curve on the best rule of thumb in sharing "link love" among bloggers ... but then again, look at who i am chatting with? his blog is about blogging and one of the best (maybe the best) i have found on the ins and outs of the topic todate. no wonder he is called:

instabloke IMG
and his blog is about blogging. dang good as i have said, not in so few words, above. this bloke apparently knows a thing or two about blogs :-) and about "link love" and stuff like that...

my freely offered idea for a new slogan or maxim for this guy is:

if it ain't bloke, don't fix it!

blog surfboard + link love
basically, without too much verbage on my part, one could make a fairly simple frame (like the frame of the blog surfboard) and feature the blogs in their blog roll or the links of their blogging friends as the rotation for what would become "a blog ring" of sorts. this would help a group of blog friends, a blogging community (such as the ones at mybloglog), a circle of niched blogs, etc., to appeal to those readers who seem to be drawn to the next blog link.

note: i simply found it funny that the number one click on the instabloke's (or blog bloke) my bloglog (as of this writing) is... taaaa daaaaa!! the "next blog" link. did u click it?

here endeth my gathering of links....

M Ward "Chinese Translation" video - excellent!

a stream of consciousness explanation:
so, i must be the last person on earth to have heard m ward. i came across an article about larry norman on sarah's myspace blog and she had m ward's track on her myspace and i was pretty much wow'd by sarah's writing skills and photos too and just had to do the friend request thing which led me to look for m ward's myspace and do the old request thing again because i was quite impressed with his music (and doing a dylan song never hurts) and my current myspace layout features the music of jesse eubanks who is one of the great unknowns in the music world (for now) and as always i am propping and noising about chris carder's music as well ... heck i've been a fan of his about 20 years now and sometimes you just want the world to know about something and someone great - which as i began, i suppose the world already knows about m ward and chinese translation and probably this vid which is a great animation (a bit newagey for my blood - but great) and of course the song is just excellent in all respects with a surprise ending, "i hear it has a surprise ending ... with a twist" :-0 but then again it's one of those simple things laid out so eloquently that it becomes profound that we all have these shared experiences of loss, aspiration and longing and that's kinda the wisdom tooth in this little song... well, if you didn't know about this song or m ward before then there's 2 of us now :-)
end stream...

watchr outr! interesting idea...

watchr watchr.IMG
now, this is kinda cool, or as i stated above ... interesting. take the community openess of a wiki, mix it with a custom search, add a dash of social bookmarking flavor, and a pinch of topical headings a splatter of google ads and cover it all with a nice tag or buzz cloud like interface, with a roving highlighter, a scrolling of the most recent searches and topics and a list of newly added pages ... give rights to claim your page or remain annoymous ... and you got watchr.

to some degree, i have been using this as a social novelty - adding my friends names and linking up images in comments on their myspace, blog, or here and there - letting them find themselves being profiled. it's been a bit fun to see some get more editing done to them.

in typical mostbloggers fashion, i ain't here to explain watchr ... i here* to offer you some links and send you on your way to check it out fer yerself.

now, before you go clicking around - i've noticed some page outages (probably as watchr is being figured out more fully on the backend). so, if you try the link and find it slow to load or dead ... just mark this post n come back. it'll be worth it :^)

and i am not saying it's slow, only fairly newish, when it's up - the page loads are quick and the buzz scroll and all features work great.

amos dettonville on watchr watchr.IMG
i just whipped this one out ... hope it's decent.

watchr chris carder IMG
did one for my bro, CC...

hey, remember (or hear ye! hear ye! if you haven't heard) chris is giving away a free copy of his song, "shoebox" from now until christmas 2006 - so click on over and get a copy (be sure to tell your friends too).

dale watchr hall IMG
same for my bud dale ... but this didn't seem to work out so good, well not yet. redemption? of course, watchr shows you the relevent links suggested for a person.

uberbelly watchr IMG
fellow PO patron and artist (though i am soooo slack in getting my tunes down ... i need more time or less time or something like that) ...

watchr on watchr IMG
wish i had thought of that. hey, click it and add the url of this post to the page - maybe that'll help :-)

Larry Norman - Snapshots from the '77 Tour

Larry Norman - Snapshots from the '77 Tour IMG

Larry's 1977 World Tour was recorded with the hire of a mobile 24 track studio in different countries. Similar to the Rolling Stones' mobile studio inside their large truck, this vehicle parked outside many a theater with cables and snakes running inside and captured the performances on stage.

Larry took his dear friend, Alwyn Wall, on part of the tour and a band made up of guitar virtuoso Norman Barratt and sidemen like Nick The Knife on drums and T-Bone on bass. On another part of the tour, Larry took Tom Howard on his coat-tails down to Australia where he featured Tom on "The Fish Song" and other classic Howard tunes (only one of which is included here) and Larry performed the most soulful version of "I've Searched All Around The World" he ever executed, with Tom on keyboards and backup harmony.

This album starts off slowly with "I Hope I'll See You In Heaven" (an unknown song at the time, having never been recorded on an album) and rounds off nicely with "Why Should The Devil Have All The Good Music?" at the end. The cover photograph was taken on the outskirts of China.

Songs include:
  1. I Hope I'll See You In Heaven
  2. If It Wasn't For The Church We Wouldn't Have Rock And
  3. If I Got My Ticket
  4. Swing Low, Sweet Chariot
  5. Are You Washed In The Blood? speech
  6. If God Is My Father
  7. The Outlaw
  8. Tom Howard's Fish Song
  9. I've Searched All Around The World
  10. Soul On Fire
  11. Lonely By Myself
  12. Watch What You're Doing
  13. Let That Tape Keep Rolling
  14. Song For A Small Circle Of Friends
  15. Why Should The Devil Have All The Good Music?

once somebody visited my blog and said, "I don't get it?" i told them, "keep coming back, click a link, see where it takes you!?"

my basic idea behind this blog - is to post things i find interesting - less talk, more surf. the links above? i don't even really fully get them right now either...

that's another aspect of this blog. i call myself, amos "test boy" dettonville ... i just try it - sometimes it works - sometimes it's fun - sometimes it's just lame... sometimes it goes kaboom! what the heck? it's just a blog - right ... it's just a blog, it's just a blog, it's just a blog....

btw, there's links all over the place, in posts, on this page, in mid-text, and not all of them are made obvious ... but for people who like to surf - try 'em out.

you never know what you'll find...

and, you'll notice daniel eder's name in the tags ... he's no doubt the source of beatm.com - and i always watch what eder is doing ... he's more "test boy" than i ever dreamed of being (dreamt for ozzies and sundry peoples on the globe and maybe beyond, beyond, beyond (i add the drama for the "listen to this post" link at the end of each post.

did someone say, less ... chat?

sorry...

As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.

the dangers of linking vids - sometimes they move. so, if this one is gone: go here or search here.

Les: It's a helicopter, and it's coming this way. It's flying something behind it, I can't quite make it out, it's a large banner and it says, uh - Happy... Thaaaaanksss... giving! ... From... W.... ... K... ... R... ... P!!

Les: No parachutes yet. Can't be skydivers... I can't tell just yet what they are, but - Oh my God, Johnny, they're turkeys!! Johnny, can you get this? Oh, they're plunging to the earth right in front of our eyes! One just went through the windshield of a parked car! Oh, the humanity! The turkeys are hitting the ground like sacks of wet cement! Not since the Hindenberg tragedy has there been anything like this!

Johnny: Les? Are you there? Les isn't there. (composing himself) Thanks for that on-the-spot report, Les, and for those of you who just tuned in, the Pinedale Shopping Mall has just been bombed with live turkeys. Film at eleven.

Jennifer: But Mr Colly, a lot of turkeys don't make it through Thanksgiving!

Venus: Les! Are you okay?
Les: I don't know. A man and his two children tried to kill me. After the turkeys hit the pavement, the crowd kind of scattered, but some of them tried to attack me! I had to jam myself into a phone booth! Then Mr Carlson had the helicopter land in the middle of the parking lot. I guess he thought he could save the day by turning the rest of the turkeys loose. It gets pretty strange after that.
Andy: Les, c'mon now, tell us the rest.
Les: I really don't know how to describe it. It was like the turkeys mounted a counterattack! It was almost as if they were ...organized!!
Mr Carlson: As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.

another rackin' frackin' consarn dang quiz

once again, i find myself doing one of those ... quizzes? i don't even know why? and even worse ... why post it and carry on the killing of time - or add to the traffic of such sites which host such things??? why why why?

at the very least i knew what autodidact meant - and the results of this quiz are false ... i did not pay attention in school ... not at all.

You paid attention during 100% of high school!

85-100% You must be an autodidact, because American high schools don't get scores that high! Good show, old chap!

Do you deserve your high school diploma?

referez IMG just a snippet of code on these sites - and when their articles are read - they get listed (in real time)

referez latest IMG showing the latest articles from the last hour.

referez popular IMG showing what posts are popular as of late.

referez local USA IMG showing current top US articles

referez latest local US IMG yep, just what it says.

US local popular on referez IMG hey, i gotta mix up the words at some point :-)

mostbloggers on referez IMG pretty neat stuff here.

searching referez IMG for music.

searching referez IMG for christian.

now, obviously if you being from korea u will notice (if u check service zones) that korea has begun to hop on this in the largest numbers. US has only 23 sites at the time of this post. this is a great step forward in the world of watching blogs and articles online. can it be abused? sure ... most anything on the web is open to abuse of some sort - exploitation by people seeking only gain. i have been hesitant to write about this too much - for fear of seeing too many, "miracle ointment" sites, spam blogs, or "how I went from eating earthworms to turning my diet into a multi million dollar business and I want to share my amazing secret..." sites.

but, i think it's time serious bloggers (even if their blogs aren't so serious :-)) began to hop on to referez - it's a great idea and a great service.

We are your medals ... rambling on about russ taff's medals ...

this post really belongs on my original blog Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting but, as i commented in my last post concerning my other blogs (just see my profile) ... those blogs r on hold and a bit of my nerdy desire for topicality (like that word?) and orderadsciousness (a stretch) is being given up at present.

i have been signing songs (even singing them :-)) from russ taff's medals for about a month now. i cannot find my copy - so i am going to have to buy a new one.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
$7.99
the songs from medals - lyrically stand well under the test of time. the tracks sound a bit dated ... but i don't care ... they're strong songs from one of russ taff's (the power voice) top releases. at the time, the production was SOA - still pretty hot - big drums sound, hot licks, the whole wall of incorporated sound effect - which really showcases some great tech, production, and studio work. it's hard to make a song so filled and yet even, textured, and great! this cd is an example of that skill.

ah. but i just love the songs on medals ... they came to me during a breakdown of my own after the loss of a relationship and my mind :-) [well, we can smile about it now can't we? i did get better ... better i tell u!!! better!!!]

lately, the song, "silent love" has a line that is resonating in my head and being sung (by me) quite a bit: "... and forever my Lord, my heart belong to you, for i need not see you to love...." faith! it's really not believing in the absence of evidence (poor definition there) but knowing something (or should i dare to say, "Someone") apart from the usual evidentiary sources (like seeing)....

ghost of john kerry visits mid-term elections [in pictures]

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Photobucket - Video and Image HostingPhotobucket - Video and Image HostingPhotobucket - Video and Image HostingPhotobucket - Video and Image HostingPhotobucket - Video and Image Hosting

the first pic is probably the funniest of them all. it's always good to see grassroots media at work - banners none-the-less!

the rest of the pics - and i don't care if you're dem or rep; lib or con; there just funny too. i think most people would confess that there never was a huge US john kerry base - but rather a number of people who wished to vote against President Bush. if that meant algore or kerry - so be it.

i personally think that gore had a breakdown after his election loss - he seems to be doing better. i have to think that kerry's breakdown, if there is to be one, will probably find its trigger in this "botched joke" from which i doubt there's any solid way for him to recover any presidential ambitions.

blah blah blah, enjoy the pics...

technically, this should be on my media memos blog IMG but, it's taking a break (or i am).... when i began several blogs (including media memos) most of the content was being generated as either left over scraps from my work or study notes from my work. it was easy to run several blogs when my job provided me with more stuff to post. it was like an easy way to mix 2 worlds. now, there's not so much time and mostbloggers isp blog gets most of my attention (as in ... er ... all my blogging attention ... which comes in bursts). i am considering moving that blog to townhall.com - or maybe keeping it where it is? i dunno yet. i like having a place to post my own reactions to the daily, the newsworthy, political, and whatever is pop at the moment. if you share a similar desire ... but like myself ... u'd rather do it with on a team blog - email me (addy's on mostbloggers upper right).

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Midland

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

funny, i answered the questions in my pure southern accent - but i currently live in louisville, kentucky (which is a border town of the "midlands" - it's a city with about 4 different groups in one city - and is largely "non-accented" compared to my old georgia home.)

but, i lived long enough in south philly to consider myself part philadelphian. but maybe the test results are the same for everybody - so far "midland" is the only result i have seen for anyone.

got the above quiz thusly:
